Hello Summer

Summer finally arrived and of course fashionably on time, just how we New Yorkers like it. Not too early not too late! We all know hot sunny days signifies a lot for our calendar year ( were already six months into the year!!!!) and most of all, our seasonal cleaning. Which means by now, you should know have a plan to edit your wardrobe and closet for the season. If you have no clue what to wear or to throw away, you definitely want to stay tuned for your favorite blog's fashion trends and must have staples for the season :0.

Dress to Excel Seminar: West Side High School

I had a fabulous time speaking to the students at Edward A. Reynolds, West Side High School. I was the guest speaker for 40 graduating seniors. My lesson for them was about how passion leads to success and dressing to excel. Before the actual day of the seminar, I obsessed over what the students would think of me.

Aiming for students attention is not that easy, some students get bored, feel like they heard it all before or you're simply just a waste of their time. Not to mention, almost every student has a cell phone and/or music player. What will stop them from tuning me out? I remember being a student and I wasn't always engaged with every guest speaker we had in class. However, the ones I do remember inspiring me had relatable experiences to my life or someone I knew and had a personable approach.

As I entered the class room, I said to myself, "This is the beginning of a new venture and a test to see if I have what it takes to make this mission happen". Well, the experience was better than I could imagine.   The students appreciated me sharing my life trials and how I used them to get to where I am today. They were intrigued and had a lot of questions. I was excited and felt valued that I can share my time with them. The feeling gave me a rush and motivation to proceed with the launch of Dress to Excel.

Spring's Most Talked About: MET GALA 2012

Beyonce in Givenchy at the MET Gala 2012
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe at the MET Gala 2012

SJP in Valentino at the MET Gala 2012
Chanel Iman in Tom Ford at the MET Gala 2012

Solange in Rachel Roy at the MET Gala 2012

Giselle in Givenchy at the MET Gala 2012

A month later, people are still talking about their most loved and hated fashion at the MET Gala 2012. Of course I had to share with you my favorite looks that nearly sent me to the emergency room. From Beyonce's bold yet fabulous dress decision to Giselle's knock em  dead gown, yes Givenchy nearly sent me in an overdose of fashion. Not to mention, two babies are growing up gracefully: the beautiful Chanel Iman and the Rachel Zoe collection. My obession with Carrie Bradshaw still lives through Sara Jessica Parker. Which in my mind, SJP can wear anything she wants. Solange continues to surprise her fans with stunning looks. Check your pulse, I'm quite sure you've died from all the fabulousness.
