| Ella and Cee Bra and Panty Set Purchased: 2/2009 Status: Never Worn |
A year ago, Something suddenly came over me... I had the urge to try on unlined bras. For years, I've worn ones with padding of all levels. I wear a 32C or 34B depending on the cut of the bra so I though wearing an unlined styles was pointless. Then I thought about the times when I was a bra specialist and how I've encourage girls and women to try on bras they thought they didn't need or believed couldn't wear because of their size. What was holding me back?
Working for a top lingerie brand for 8 years, I've realized I've been cheating my self of my own knowledge. I wear the right size and have a collection of bras for different wardrobe styles and events but haven't worn any other bra outside of my comfort zone. I've tried on some unlined bras by a few european designers years ago, They're beautiful but have been collecting dust. I was never ready to wear them. "Is now the time? Should I try something new?" I said asked myself.
When the opportunity came for me to get my gratis bra of the month, I told my my co-worker , the lingerie manager at the time (we will call her Jackie for privacy act reasons) that I wanted to try something new. She gave me the " yes girl! face". I got cold feet and proceeded to grab a black push up bra and head to the register. I didn't need to try it on because I always wear the same collections. "Come on Q" Jackie says as if she is annoyed with me. "Just try it on, what's the worst that could happen?" she says, while shoving me into the dressing room.
I stood in front of the mirror in shock. I couldn't believe the overwhelming feeling of sexy that came over me. I was in love with the seamless lace details and the perfect shape it gave me. I tried on my shirt and didn't notice too much of a difference. I was excited about my new found sexy. As I walked out the fitting room, I asked myself "Did you really just trade your push up bra for an unlined bra!?" I still love my push-ups because they do wonders for my wardrobe. They just have new roommates that take up less space. : )
