Carnival Cruise
My boyfriend and I are vacating next week and I can't wait! Its our first time cruising to the caribbean and I am super excited. We are stopping at beautiful islands, Barbados, St. Kits, Antigua, Dominica , St. Lucia and a few more. There is so much culture for me to embrace; food, music, dance and language. I'm praying the trip will be amazing! I have plenty of things to do before hand, of course starting with shopping. The summer season is ending, which means a lot of the stuff i'll be looking for will be on sale. I hope I get everything I need! Wish me luck...

p.s. Ill keep you posted on the shopping!

Backyard Boogie
One of my favorite summer activities are the weekend BBQs I attend at a relative or friend's place. It is a great way to let loose and play catch up with people you haven't seen in a while. Of course delicious food and drinks are other great perks! Loud and vibrating music makes the night a fabulous success. Before the summer is over, make sure you grab your best buddies and head to the next bbq your way!

Steve Madden's Sale Event

Steve Madden has a great sale going on, buy one pair of shoes, get the other 90% off! Yes 90% off people! Thats like getting one practically free. If that is not accessible enough, bring one of your closest friends and go half on a pair. Either way, it is a great deal. Get there before they good ones are gone!
p.s. I'm just getting back into wearing Steve Madden shoes, they are more comfortable now.

Speechless Art
Yesterday my besties and I roam through 14th street Union Square. For some odd reason (like anything going on 14th street is odd anyway, lol), we decide to look up in the sky. We are amazed because the sky is so beautiful, the clouds look like they are drawn for a fairy tale. We immediately take out our cameras and capture picture after picture. Feeling silly and like a group of tourist, we put our cameras back in our bags. As we turn around we notice everyone in union square is taking pictures of the lovely sky, literally everyone, even the guy at the stand selling hot dogs. Everyone is pointing and taking in the naturally formed art. I realize at that moment people can connect from the simplest things. From taking pictures of strange clouds or standing on a long line for a delicious dessert from Pink Berry, we New Yorkers never want to miss a thing!

Baggage Check!
Hey People
Today is just one of those days when I don't feel like carry around all the extra baggage! I'm too tired to dig all around my bag just to pull out my metro card! By the way, it looks like a mimi suitcase, I load in everything from dresses to my lunch. No time for the weight on my shoulders so I am checking in my lovely Limited Edition Victoria's Secret satchel for my fabulous Juicy Couture purse. Hey less crap, less drama! I should apply this to everything in life..... hmmmmm.
p.s
Please don't get disappointed if you see me with another huge bag... I might get cold feet.

The Queen

I luv Queen Latifah's persona: Fierce, firm and respected! A suffragist in heart, this Queen is anything but ordinary. From her hottest tracks "UNITY" and "Just Another Day", the spectacular movie "Set It Off", a most watched sitcom, "Living Single" and not to mention her Cover Girl line of make up. That is the least we can mention of the many talent she storms, then and now. Queen La is on fire! Ever wonder where some people like Queen La get this over the top swagger? Is it their past experiences they over come that gives them their flair?
Well I truly believe some who are creative or talented have a deep past that no ones understands unless they tell you. Art is their great escape, for example, when Mary J Blidge sings you feel it in your soul. She can take you through her past through her music and have you feeling everything she's gone through, it is amazing. Lauren Hill, with her hot tracks "killing me softly" and "Do Woop That Thing", took you into her moment one verse at a time.
My mom always said "With every rhyme there is always a reason". When our Queen La tells Essence magazine she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child my heart jumps. The lyrics of her track "Unity" comes to mind and I understand her pain a lot more. Singing her pain through her music makes her persona certified, her rhyme has more reason and her break through is stronger.
Remember the way the hip hop diva dressed in the 90s? Fabulously covered, hiding all of her curves. Now she is one of the leading faces of Cover Girls cosmetics. She sashays in perfect fitting dresses and struts in the sexiest stilettos ever! Her confidence is in over drive. Queen La is another living proof that no matter the circumstances one may face, strive for what you want. Reach for the stars, have faith and you shall receive in time!
